Project Overview
Many trucks travel with unused space, while brokers and shippers often struggle to find the right carrier for smaller loads. PTL Exchange was built to connect these two needs.
The responsive web application allows shippers and brokers to post loads based on the amount of truck space they require. Carriers can then list the available linear feet on their planned routes. The platform compares both listings and identifies suitable matches.
Project Challenges
Freight matching involves more than comparing a pickup point with a delivery address. The platform had to consider the amount of available space, route direction, shipment size, account type, and listing availability.
All of this information needed to remain clear and useful on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Project Results
PTL Exchange created a more direct way to connect available truck space with partial shipments.
Carriers can make better use of routes they are already planning to travel. At the same time, brokers and shippers can review more suitable transportation options without relying on a slow manual search.
Project Summary
Brokers and shippers can create a listing with the shipment size, required truck space, pickup point, and delivery destination.
Carriers can publish their route and remaining capacity. The platform then compares the details and presents opportunities that fit both the shipment and the planned journey.
The application keeps listings, matches, notifications, and user activity in one place.
Its responsive design makes it easy to manage freight opportunities from different devices. By simplifying the matching process, PTL Exchange helps reduce unused truck space and gives shippers more ways to move partial loads.
