Project Overview

Finding the right activity for a child can take a surprising amount of time. Parents often need to visit several websites, compare schedules, check age requirements, and contact providers before making a booking.

FamilyHop brings that process into one mobile marketplace. Families can search for sports, arts, educational programmes, and other activities, while providers manage their services through a connected web portal.

Project Challenges

FamilyHop had to work well for two very different groups.

Parents wanted a quick and simple way to find suitable activities. Providers needed more detailed tools for schedules, programme listings, bookings, payments, availability, and pricing.

The challenge was to support these features without making either side of the platform feel complicated.

Detailed Search Filters – Parents needed to search by age, location, category, schedule, and other preferences.
Nearby Activities – Google Maps had to display relevant programmes in the user’s area.
Different Pricing Models – The platform needed to support drop-ins, memberships, punch passes, and seasonal classes.
Booking Management – Availability, payments, confirmations, and schedules had to remain connected.
Provider Setup – Activity providers needed a quick way to join the platform and publish their programmes.

Project Results

FamilyHop gave families one place to discover, compare, and book activities that suit their needs.

Providers also gained a practical way to manage programmes and reach new customers without having to change their existing pricing or class structure.

Project Summary

Parents can use the mobile application to explore activities based on their child’s age, interests, location, and availability.

They can review programme details, compare suitable options, and complete a booking without moving between different websites or contacting several providers.

Providers use the web portal to publish activities, update schedules, control availability, manage reservations, and offer different payment options.

The mobile app and web portal work together to keep programme information current and make the booking process easier for both families and activity businesses.
